The Andalusia City Schools Board of Education approved several personnel changes including two Andalusia Elementary School assistant principals at a meeting held Thursday, June 15.
AES will now have three assistant principals under the leadership of Principal Victoria Anderson. Heather Bulger will remain in her current position as assistant principal.
Traneshia Birch was honored about becoming an AES assistant principal after previously working as a math coach for the school.
“I’m so eager and thrilled to be one of the new assistant principals at Andalusia Elementary School. Thank you, ACS board members and Ms. Anderson, for trusting and supporting me to transition from an instructional coach to an instructional leader. I look forward to the new challenges this new position provides, and it’s going to be a great year at AES,” Birch said.
Bradley Stephens is also excited about his new opportunity as assistant principal at AES after previously serving as principal at Lyeffion Junior High School outside of Evergreen.
“This is a great opportunity to get back close to home and work at the same school my children are in. I am looking forward to working with a great administrator in Ms. Anderson. I know there are wonderful teachers that I am looking forward to working with as well. I am looking forward to the opportunity to grow professionally as an administrator and believe AES I just that place for that opportunity,” Stephens said.
