The Covington County Board of Education approved 12 personnel matters and announced an art gallery that is open to the public until the end of next week at a regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday, August 1.

Students of the Covington County Arts Program participated in a fine arts camp at the Central Office held in July. Their art is displayed in a gallery at the board of education’s gymnasium. It will be open to the public through Friday, August 11, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day.

“Every time our kids have an opportunity to show their talents, they do a great job with that. This is certainly an example of talent displayed by quite a number of our students,” Board President Jeff Bailey said. “It also reflects the number of students who participated in this year’s art camp and shows we have a lot of very good talent in our schools,” Superintendent Shannon Driver added.

This was also the final meeting held before the 2023-2024 school year begins. Students will return to school Monday, August 14.
