Ernie Durwin Armstrong of McKenzie passed away August 17, 2023, at his residence. He was 69 years old.

Graveside services were held Sunday, August 20, 2 p.m., at Bushfield Cemetery. Rev. Tyree Bowen officiated. Special guitar music was provided by John Bennett. Keahey Funeral Home directed.

Left to cherish his memory are, his loving wife of 48 years, Brenda Armstrong; sons, Shelby Ladon Gorum of Dothan and William Clayton Gorum of McKenzie; sister, June Odom (Tommy) of McKenzie; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Benji Armstrong; and two brothers, Marlin Armstrong and Wayne Armstrong.

Durwin owned and operated Armstrong Garage and served the community as an excellent mechanic for many years. He attended Garden Baptist Church.
