Jeff Puckett, Kyle Hensley, Garrett Bess, Ryan Davis, Andrew Dean, and Donovan Dorsey, all of whom work in the electric department of the City of Andalusia Utilities, have safely arrived in Green Cove Springs, Fla., in anticipation of helping to restore power once Hurricane Idalia moves across Florida.
Idalia is expected to be a major hurricane when she makes landfall on Wednesday morning. The City of Andalusia Utilities works with Electric Cities to aid other municipal power operations post disaster. The local system will be reimbursed for its expenses.
“We’d always rather be offering help than asking for it,” Mayor Earl Johnson said. “Our crew has been to Green Cove Springs to help before, and that community specifically asked to have them return. We appreciate all that our employees do to keep the power on here, and to help others.”
