The Covington County Child Advocacy Center is taking orders for its Fall Box Lunch until Friday, Sept. 22, with both pickup and delivery options available.

This year’s Fall Box Lunch is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 4, at Southside Baptist Church. For those unable to pick up at the church, delivery will be available from 10:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. All donations are welcome, and the CCCAC seeks volunteers to assist with packing boxes on Tuesday, Oct. 3, and the day of the event.

“Money that is raised from the Box Lunch is used for a variety of necessary expenses at the Covington County Child Advocacy Center. Those include phone, Internet, copier services, medical supplies, counseling supplies, and forensic interview supplies. All services provided at the CCCAC are free to children and non-offending family members. Whether it is a medical exam, forensic interview, counseling, court preparation for children, or multi-disciplinary case review, all services are at no cost to the families we serve,” said Executive Director Mindy Barton.

The price per box lunch is $10.00 and includes Chicken Shack chicken salad, a bag of chips, a fresh fruit bowl, pickles, a yeast roll, dessert, a napkin, serving utensils, a minty toothpick, and a surprise. Order forms can be found on the CCCAC Facebook page or by calling the office at 334-222-1881 and submitted through phone or email.

Barton said the office’s fax number is currently down and cannot accept any order forms.
