The LBW Community College Marketing Department recently attended this year’s Alabama Community College System Public Relations Association annual conference and brought home some hardware from the event.

Maggie Mash, who serves as the college’s marketing director and public information officer, received a Best in Show award and a Pyramid Award for the LBWCC Career Cruiser. She also earned two certificates of achievement. One was in the Special Events category for the college’s “Community Candid” lecture series, and the other was in the Social Media Campaign category for the StrongHER Saints campaign.

“I was thrilled the judges saw my submissions as award-winning, especially to earn a Best in Show, amongst all the entries submitted. This is truly a huge honor,” Mash said.

This year’s conference had an “All Over the Map” theme and was held Sept. 6-8 at Lodge at Gulf State Park in Gulf Shores.

Mash stated that 16 judges in three different states selected Pyramid Award winners in each category. Those winners were then sent to three more judges who scored for Best in Show in two categories: print and electronic.

“This campaign really stands out. The Career Cruiser is a unique approach to encouraging children to pursue college as well as fill gaps for other educational needs,” judges said about LBW’s recreational learning vehicle.

Mash takes pride in serving the community through many ways and notably as the college’s marketing director.

“I’m grateful for the support because everything I do in this role involves others. Every initiative takes the work of many to bring to life. One of my favorite parts of the position is working with the amazing team we have at LBW,” she said.
