U.S. Representative Barry Moore has announced that he will seek election in Alabama’s new congressional Dist. 1, which now includes portions of his former district, Dist. 2.

Rep. Barry Moore

“The new district needs an effective conservative fighter who is willing to take on the swamp and put people over politics. That is why today I filed to run for re-election. Thanks to Biden’s failed policies, our nation is $33 trillion in debt, our borders are wide open, global conflict is rampant, and Alabamians are worried about their own government weaponizing against them. We have a lot to do in Washington to get our country back on track, and my record shows I’ll never clock out when there is work to be done.

“In 2015, I was the first elected official in the nation to endorse Donald Trump for President at the Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, and I have worked tirelessly to further the America First agenda. During my three years in Congress, we have passed legislation ensuring Veterans families have the benefits they deserve, resolved more than 3,700 cases for constituents in need, exposed weaponized government on the House Judiciary Committee, and worked to ensure producers have the resources they need as a member of the House Agriculture Committee. I’ve proven that as a House Freedom Caucus Member and the most effective Republican Congressman from Alabama during my first term, that you can be effective and conservative at the same time.

“Like President Trump, I too have faced political persecution, but I fought the Montgomery Swamp and won. Since coming to Congress, I’ve continued the fight against the D.C. Swamp and the radical leftists weaponizing our government against our president, our parents, and our principles.

“Representing Alabama in Congress has been a tremendous blessing and I am excited about the opportunity to serve the people of southern Alabama from the Gulf Coast to the Wiregrass. Alabama’s First Congressional District is now one of the most conservative in the nation and we deserve an effective representative in Congress who is equally as conservative.”

Moore states among his accomplishments being rated as the most effective Republican U.S. Representative from Alabama for the 117th Congress by the Center for Effective Lawmaking. He was also rated as the most conservative Republican U.S. Representative from Alabama for the 117th Congress by Heritage Action and Conservative Review, and as the most conservative Republican U.S. Representative from Alabama for the year 2022 by CPAC.

Moore will face the current Dist. 1 representative, Jerry Carl — who announced his plan to seek re-election — in the 2024 Republican primary.
