An Andalusia man who agreed to meet a confidential informant to sell illegal drugs, including methamphetamine, which was intended to be introduced into the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton, was arrested on multiple charges Monday.

Bobby Ray Morris, 54, 5863 Bradley Road, was charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, attempting to distribute drugs, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and promoting prison contraband.

He was arrested at the Marathon Station about 1 p.m. at 2277 Douglas Ave., on Nov. 2. He was later given a $250,000 bond.

According to court records, on Nov. 2, Morris was in communication with an individual working in cooperation with the Brewton Police Department and told that individual to meet him at the Marathon Station in Brewton to sell him $200 worth of meth.

Records state Morris traveled to the Marathon Station, where he was waiting on the cooperating individual to arrive and was taken into custody by Brewton police officers for attempting to commit a controlled substance crime.

Records state Morris was found to be in possession of several Suboxone strips he was unable to produce a prescription for.

Once transported to the detention center, court records state officers found a glass pipe that contained meth residue and meth.
