Mediacom Communications recognized Andalusia resident Austin Creel as an employee who achieved the company’s top performance rankings for outstanding customer service and excellence in broadband services.

Creel was recognized as the Area Operations Employee of the Year at a recent ceremony held with corporate leaders.

“It felt great to receive the award. I just try my best to resolve any issue I can. I enjoy this job and the ability to help others out and push myself continuously each day,” Creel said.

He was one of 40 employees nationwide to earn a system-level award for exemplary service in 2023. He is a broadband specialist and has been a Mediacom employee since 2021.

Creel credited his fellow coworkers for their assistance with his position.

“I’m grateful for the guys I work with. They’re always there if I have any questions or concerns about what is going on. I look forward to working each day and giving our customers the best I have each and every job I go to,” he said.

He is the son of Trisha Creel and John Lunsford.

Companywide, Mediacom employs 4,000 people, and the award recipients were among 195 employees recognized for performance achievements over the past year. Award recipients receive a monetary bonus and other employee recognition.
