Opp police seeks suspect in attempted murder; two individuals already in custody

Opp police are seeking a teenager for his alleged involvement in an attempted murder in November. Two other suspects have been arrested in the case.
According to Alabama CrimeStoppers, the Opp Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating 18-year-old Jakellus Arnez Lane. Lane is described as a black male, standing 6-feet, 2 inches in height, and weighing approximately 200 pounds.
Two others, 18, and Raheem Bonam, 25, were arrested on November 30 and are in custody. Both are charged with attempted murder.
Opp police responded to an apartment complex on Morning Star Drive on Nov. 16 where they found a 20-year-old male shot several times. The name of the victim has not been released. He was last reported to be undergoing treatment in Dothan and was in stable condition.
“Law enforcement officials have been working tirelessly to gather evidence and seek justice,” stated an OPD press release. “The Opp Police Department remains committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of the community. This case remains under investigation and the OPD encourages anyone with additional information related to this incident to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.”
