The Covington County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting incident that left one person injured Thursday afternoon.

According to Sheriff Blake Turman, one person suffered minor injuries in the shooting and was transported from the scene by ambulance.

Law enforcement responded to Prestwood Bridge Road, near Rabren Road, where the shooting occurred. Turman said those involved in the incident were identified and interviewed. No arrests have been made, but a possible suspect was identified. The case remains under investigation, according to Turman.

“The community is safe and there is no danger from this incident. Our deputies were diligent and located the suspect within an hour of the incident,” the sheriff said.

Turman thanked the Andalusia Police Department for its assistance. He said APD traffic cameras were used to help identify a vehicle involved.
