Two suspects are in custody after a shooting Saturday night that left one man dead and another injured.
According to the Covington County Sheriff’s Office, one victim of the shooting, Cammeon Franklin, 19, was transported to a Pensacola hospital where he was later pronounced dead. A second victim who has not been identified was treated for a non-life-threatening wound.
CCSO deputies responded to Andalusia Health Saturday night at approximately 8 p.m. where the two men had been admitted with gunshot wounds. That night, Ahmad Jzikelle Elliot-Warmack was arrested and charged with murder and attempted murder. He is currently being held without bond.
A second suspect in the shooting, Emmett Sigers, was arrested on Sunday and was also charged with murder and attempted murder. Sheriff Blake Turman thanked the Luverne Police Department for their assistance in locating and arresting Sigers.
“Our deputies and investigators worked around the clock,” Turman said. “A very special thanks to Chief Mike Johnson and his staff at the Luverne Police Department. Their assistance locating Sigers and detaining him was top notch.”
Turman said the investigation is ongoing and that more charges against Warmack and Sigers are expected. Anyone with information on the incident should call the CCSO at 334-427-4911.
