Mr. Guy E. Dean, Jr., known as “E. J.”, 64, of Andalusia, passed away Friday, Dec. 22, 2023, at Mizell Memorial Hospital in Opp.

Funeral services were Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2 p.m., at First Baptist Church of Greenville (212 Fort Dale Rd, Greenville, AL 36037) with Brother Justin Sasser officiating and Foreman Funeral Home directing. The interment followed in St. Paul Methodist Cemetery. Visitation began Tuesday, Dec. 26, 6 p.m., at Foreman Funeral Home and at the church 30 minutes prior to services.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Dean; two daughters, Crystal Lynne Dean and Christy (Justin) Sasser; son, Shane (Jessica) Turner, all of Andalusia; his father, Earnest (Gloria) Dean of Greenville; grandchildren, Kennedy Della Bullard and Cooper Reed Sasser; a special lifelong friend, Murray Fail of Greenville; one brother, Stan Dean of Brundidge; and sister, Jody (Gale) Slagley of Greenville; spiritual grandchildren, Hayden Blair, Garrett Boley, Bentley Boley and Bailey Boley; along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He is preceded in death by his loving mother, Ann F. Dean.

Pallbearers were Shane Turner, Cooper Sasser, Garrett Boley, Murray Fail, Don Whitehurst, Ron Whitehurst, Louie Boley, and Terry Craig.
