Rev. Donald Richard “Richie” Oswald, age 61 of Greenville passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 16, 2024.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, Jan. 28, 2 p.m., at the Belleville Baptist Church (7717 CR-15, Castleberry, AL). Rev. Joey Rodgers will officiate. Katye Holloway Giddens will provide special music. Keahey Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Marie Oswald; son, Thomas Joseph E. Oswald of Greenville; daughters, Julie Hope Etheridge (John) of Greenville; Libby Beth Judithann Oswald of Greenville; brothers, Joey Duncan (Karen) of Greenville; David McMillian of Birmingham; sister, Lynn Duncan Johnson (Alan) of Cottonwood, Alabama, Stacey Cobb (Greg) of Greenville and Mellissa Willis (James) of Alabaster, beloved nephew, Jason Snow, Aunt Frances Oswald Adams, Uncle Noah Adams, Uncle Calvin Oswald and Aunt Joyce Oswald.
“Richie” as he was known by most, was a lifelong resident of Greenville and the son of Ann Oswald McMillan and loving caregivers Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Oswald. He served 10 years in the U.S. Army and had served as the minister at Bellville Baptist Church in Conecuh County since 2012. Previous to that, he served other churches in the community. He was a great man and will be dearly missed.
