CCBOE approves four personnel matters at first meeting of 2024

The Covington County Board of Education held its first meeting of 2024 and approved four personnel matters at a regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 6.

During the meeting the board approved the following personnel matters:

Resignation

  • Adam A. Bass as bus mechanic 1 with Covington County Schools retroactive to Dec. 31, 2023
  • Marc Tracy as assistant principal at Pleasant Home School effective Feb. 2

Employment

  • Melisan V. Sullivan as paraprofessional at W.S. Harlan Elementary School with start date to be determined, pending verification of new or existing background reviews
  • Daniel Taylor as K-6 collaborative teacher at WSH with start date to be determined, pending verification of new or existing background reviews

The board also approved fiscal year 2024 budget amendment #1 and heard a distribution of financial reports that have been reconciled to most current bank statements.

The board did not set a date for the next meeting.
