The Andalusia Area Chamber of Commerce’s 2023-2024 Large Business of the Year is CDG, Inc.
Established in 1946, CDG is well known and respected throughout the engineering industry. Corporate headquarters are located in downtown Andalusia with nine offices located throughout the Southeast. There are six offices in Alabama, two in Charlotte and Asheville, North Carolina, and one in Knoxville, Tennessee.
In January 2023, CDG moved its Andalusia location to the downtown square completing a $4.5 million restoration of the 1900s-era Prestwood Building. In partnership with the City of Andalusia, a complete historic restoration of this prominent landscape has rejuvenated the now-thriving building. CDG occupies the second floor for its corporate headquarters and completed renovations for the first floor where Lost Pizza Co. and Town and Country are located. CDG has also been involved in the development of the city’s Heritage Park plan design.
CDG has been recognized as an Engineer News Record Top 500 Engineer Firm. In 2021, the firm expanded regionally with operations in its nine locations in Alabama, North Carolina, and Tennessee. CDG employs approximately 200 employees with 60 of those in its Andalusia headquarters.
CDG has been a longtime supporter of the Andalusia Area Chamber of Commerce and has participated in numerous organizations and events throughout the city. Those include July Jamz as a Pole Banner sponsor, the Chamber’s Clean and Green Initiative, the Chamber Classic Golf Tournament as a Birdie sponsor, the Chamber banquet as a Platinum sponsor, Meredith’s Miracles, Kiwanis Club, Rotary Club, the Rotary Club’s World Championship Domino Tournament, Pilot Club, LBW Community College’s Saints on Stage variety show, LBW’s golf tournament, the Full Tummy Project of Covington County’s golf tournament, Andalusia City Schools, Straughn High School, Andalusia Office Professionals Association, Covington County Child Advocacy Center, Andalusia Ballet Association, and Angel of Hope.
In addition to its community efforts, multiple CDG employees have served on the AACC’s Board of Directors including the president and vice president positions over the years.
CDG has continually grown in profit, employees, and acquisitions in multiple states. The engineering firm has worked with the City of Andalusia on multiple projects in Andalusia over the years. CDG is grateful to give back to the community and help its leaders build for the future.
