The Andalusia Area Chamber of Commerce’s 2023-2024 Small Business of the Year is Outlaw Realty.
Owned by Barry and Mary Alyce Outlaw, Outlaw Realty started with one residential agent and has since grown to 11 agents. Outlaw is considered one of the fastest-growing real estate agencies in all of Covington County.
Outlaw Realty takes pride in giving back to the local community in various ways. The business paid the Full Tummy Project of Covington County three months’ rent and has volunteered in packing bags for lunches on Tuesdays. Outlaw sponsors and donates to the Rotary Club’s annual World Championship Domino Tournament each July. Additional donations include Pilots for Christ, the Veterans Honor Flight as each flight is scheduled, and Andalusia Humane Society.
Outlaw Realty provides sponsorships to the Chamber’s annual July Jamz and Christmas in Candyland events along with a float in the annual Christmas parade. The business gives back to the community through additional sponsorships with St. Mary’s Rice and Beans Mardi Gras events and Meredith’s Miracles’ Cookies with Characters. Outlaw was selected as the Chamber’s 2021 Cheermeister Award for Christmas office decoration.
Over the last five years, almost 800 real estate deals have been closed at Outlaw Realty. Many buyers have come from out of state and relocated to the community with Outlaw’s assistance. Agents range from Covington and Conecuh counties to Dothan and south into Florida.
Outlaw is a member of the Covington Association of Realtors, Wiregrass Association, Emerald Coast and Leon County, Florida Associations. The business is a member of both the Andalusia and Evergreen Chambers of Commerce.
Outlaw Realty has been a top-producing sales agency over the last five years and currently manages over 70 residential properties. Outlaw also completed a new state-of-the-art office building and supplying rentals for two local businesses and won Andalusia Star-News’ Readers’ Choice Awards from 2014 through 2023. Outlaw has ‘adopted a mile’ with the state of Alabama and continuously picks up trash for that effort. The business has involved the Sandy Landing neighborhood.
Barry, Mary Alyce, and all of Outlaw Realty’s agents came together and organized a benefit in 2022 offering help to a local Andalusia cancer patient.
