Milner McGee Perry, formally of Florala, died at his home in Andalusia on Feb. 9, 2024. He was 87 years old.

Born Dec. 22, 1936, in Ozark, Alabama, Milner was the seventh child of Katherine Todd and William Thomas Perry’s eight children. He spent his early years in Lockhart and Florala, Alabama, graduating from Covington County High School in 1955. He graduated from Alabama Polytechnic Institute (Auburn University) in 1959 with a degree in Agricultural Engineering.

Milner and Judy were married in June of 1969 in Troy, Alabama. After working for Allis-Chalmers Tractor Company and Alabama Power, he returned to Florala in 1974, where he worked for Zorn Brothers Inc. for 45 years.

Milner was preceded in death by two sisters, Libba Perry Clark, and Sadie Perry Echols and four brothers, William “Bill” Perry, Edward “Ned” Perry, Oliver Perry, and Gordon Perry.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Perry; one sister, Nita Lewis; two sons, Matthew (Chrissy) Perry and Mark (Kaci) Perry; two daughters Ruth (Scott) Racz and Rachel (Jamey) Adams; ten grandsons, Christopher Racz, Jonathan Racz, Sullivan Adams, Reed Perry, Jack Adams, Ryan Perry, Max Racz, Rollin Perry, Nate Perry, and Sam Perry; one granddaughter, Anna Kate Adams; and numerous nieces and nephews who loved “Uncle Milner.”

Funeral services were Sunday, Feb. 11, 2 p.m., at First Baptist Church in Florala, Alabama, with Dr. Al Jackson and Rev. Tim Willis officiating. Visitation was one hour prior to the service.

A family graveside service took place at Oak Grove Methodist Church Cemetery in Troy, Alabama.
