The Covington Arts Council will present a concert featuring Wilson Fairchild on Saturday, Feb. 24, 7 p.m., at the LBW Dixon Center for the Performing Arts

Wilson Fairchild is a country music duo made up of Wil and Langdon Reid from the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. They are cousins, and each sons of Country Music Hall of Famers Harold and Don Reid, who are brothers and founding members of the The Statler Brothers.

“We are mainly country and have been writing songs and performing as Wilson Fairchild for several years. We have produced many albums and will be performing songs we have written as well as classic country songs. We also pay tribute to our dads with some Statler Brothers music and have a lot of fun on the stage,” Wil Reid said.

Wilson Fairchild takes inspiration from their fathers’ careers while crafting their own unique and contemporary sound. The trip to Andalusia marks the duo’s first trip to Alabama.

“There are some famous connections we’ve learned about Andalusia, such as Brenda Gantt who we see on Facebook all the time. We have a lot of Southern roots in Virginia and love Ms. Brenda and the country cooking that comes out of her kitchen. It was also cool to make a connection with Sister Schubert’s rolls. We are thrilled to start a new tour with our latest album and excited to come to southern Alabama. We always like making new friends,” he said.

Wilson Fairchild will perform a wide variety of country hits and some gospel music at the concert. Wil said they do an acoustic show and entertain their audience while playing guitar.

“We are thrilled about coming to Alabama and hope everyone can come out and see us,” he said.

Wil and Langdon are highly acclaimed songwriters who have been writing songs since their teenage years. Along with singing and songwriting, they both play guitars on stage and have played many other instruments during recording sessions.

Their latest album “Statler Made” that was released in January through Gaither Music Group has reached #21 on Billboard. The album pays homage to the legacy of the Statler Brothers while showcasing their own unique talents.

“A Wilson Fairchild show is much more than music; it is an experience. It is professional and exciting. Their clever lyrics will make you smile, and they know how to strike your heartstrings with a perfectly delivered ballad. One thing is for sure: these guys know how to entertain,” a Covington Arts Council statement read.
