Tenpenny, Tippin headline 63rd annual Opp Rattlesnake Rodeo

Headlined by country musicians Mitchell Tenpenny and Aaron Tippin, the 63rd Annual Opp Rattlesnake Rodeo will be held at Channell-Lee Stadium in Opp from Friday, March 22 through Sunday, March 24.

Activities planned for this year’s event include arts and crafts vendors, food vendors, kids’ activities, live concerts, snake races, snake shows, and more.

“We are now in our 63rd year and have a lot going on for this year’s event. We have a great lineup of entertainment planned with Mitchell Tenpenny on Saturday and Aaron Tippin on Sunday. Mitchell was on our list and just happened to be available with our dates. We are super excited to have him and Aaron in Opp,” Opp Rattlesnake Rodeo Event Coordinator Pam Kyser said.

Advanced tickets are on sale at eventbrite.com or the Opp branches of All In Credit Union, CCB Bank, and SIB Bank in Opp. Ticket prices are $15 per person on Saturday and $10 per person on Sunday. Tickets will be $20 on Saturday and $15 on Sunday at the gate. Two-day passes are also available for purchase at $20 in advance or $25 at the gate. Children 10 and under with a paying adult will be admitted free with the exception of a VIP pass, which is only available Saturday for $75 through Eventbrite.

Gates will open Friday at 5 p.m. with free admission for all, thanks to Friday night sponsor Benton’s. SevenPly will perform at 6 p.m. followed by Five Runs at 7 p.m.

Gates will open Saturday at 9 a.m. Limmy Jimmy Reed will perform at 3:15 p.m. followed by FireTown at 5 p.m. and The Ryan Waters Band at 6 p.m. Headliner Mitchell Tenpenny will take the stage at 8 p.m. The snake races and educational snake show times will be at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. with the final snake race starting at 4 p.m.

Gates will open Sunday at 10 a.m. Ashley Brooks will perform at 1 p.m. followed by Aaron Tippin at 3 p.m. An educational snake show will start at 11 a.m.

Mitchell Tenpenny is a country pop artist from Nashville, Tennessee, who released his debut album “Black Crow” in 2015 and has released three other albums. Some of his famous hits include “Drunk Me” from 2018, “Truth About You” in 2021, and “We Got History” in 2022. The Academy of Country Music Awards nominated Tenpenny as the New Male Artist of the Year in 2019.

Aaron Tippin is a country music singer, songwriter, and record producer from Pensacola, Florida. Tippin has released a total of nine studio album with six gold certifications and one platinum certification. He has charted more than 30 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts with three number-one hits: “There Ain’t Nothin’ Wrong with the Radio” in 1992, “That’s as Close as I’ll Get to Loving You” in 1995, and “Kiss This” in 2000. Tippin has also recorded six Top Ten hits.
