Covington County NAACP to host meeting on April 1

Organizers say purpose of meeting is to discuss ‘law and justice’ issues

The Covington County Branch 5049-B of the NAACP invites citizens of Covington County, Alabama to attend a meeting on April 1, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. at the Coleman Center in Andalusia, AL located at 901 C C Baker Ave, Andalusia, AL 36420.

The purpose of the meeting is to bring citizens of Covington County together, along with governmental officials, to discuss issues relating to law and justice in Covington County. The City and County government officials including law enforcement officials are invited. Hazel Bryant, President and Mattie Freeney, Membership Chair, will give an overview of the NAACP, its purpose and goals and the purpose and supporting goals of the Covington County Branch 5049-B. We want to work hand in hand with our citizens, law enforcement, and Judicial system to ensure that justice prevails in our County.

Covington County Branch 5049 of the NAACP does not advocate for political parties but does work diligently to encourage all citizens to vote. The organization will support certain legislation that it believes supportive of its goals.
