The Opp High School Class of 1959 held their 65th reunion on Saturday, April 13, at the Grace Building at the Opp First Methodist Church.

The reunion included 15 1959 graduates along with spouses and special guests.

The central attention was the table of honor with pictures and candles remembering the 36 class members who had died.

Douglas Colquett was the master of ceremony for the event remembering many events from the high school years. One story led to another as other members recalled stories from the past.

Classmates shared a great meal, but the main theme was visiting with friends who hadn’t been seen in years and catching up with each other’s lives.

A future reunion was discussed but no date was set.
