Factory Connection to move across town

Andalusia’s Factory Connection will have a new home in the coming months, managers said Friday.

Jessie Walden, Andalusia store manager, said company officials are making plans to move the retail clothing store into the shopping area next to Cato’s, where Ming’s restaurant was formerly located.

Walden said the move will allow the store to be in a more high traffic area of town and hopefully bring in more revenue.

“There are more businesses over there,” she said. “Where we are now, there isn’t a lot. It will also enable us to have a larger variety of merchandise.”

Walden wasn’t sure of the exact dimensions of the new venue, but said the space is about 50 percent larger than the current building.

The move could potentially allow the store to hire one additional employee, Walden said.

“We are very excited,” she said. “We are going to be able to get in so much more merchandise.”

Walden said if everything goes as planned, the store is expected to open on or around Nov. 18, and it will open on Sundays.

Rumors are also circulating that Hibbett Sports will also make a move to the shopping area, but management would neither confirm nor deny those rumors.
