Celebrating missions

Central Church of Christ recently reviewed its 2010 non-local Missions Program.

On Sun., Sept. 12, the Central Church of Christ reviewed its 2010 non-local Missions Program. In July 2010, six members of the Central Church family, Daniel and Leigh Roberts, Glen and Virginia Huggins, Ann Grantham and Melissa Myers, spent one week in Guatemala in a vision clinic in conjunction with Health Talents International, a ministry of teaching and healing. During the week, 38 cataract surgeries were performed, four pterygiums were removed and numerous persons were taught the gospel.

In addition to Guatemala the Central church minister, Daniel Roberts, spent a week in Belize in March. The Central church has participated in the Belizean ministry for three years and members have also gone on trips to Guyana and Jamaica. The Central church commits the fifth Sunday contributions to its mission program.

The local mission efforts including a clothes closet. More than 19 families (about 50 persons) have been helped with food, clothing, shoes, fuel, shelter, and/or utilities. With God’s help the Central family is trying to live our theme paraphrased from Mt 25:35-40, “When you have done it to the least of these, you have done it unto Me.”
