Pleasant Home’s Lance Davis received a lot of friendly flack from his teammates Saturday night at the conclusion of the Alabama-Florida Shootout.

They had good reason to.

Davis scored 43 of the Eagles’ 67 points in a 67-60 victory over Baker, Fla., at PHS.

When asked why his teammates were picking on him, Davis said “they were saying quit scoring all of the points.”

In his best effort from a scoring stand point, Davis finished 18-for-23 from the foul line, or 78 percent.

Baker, who has talent of its own, presented PHS a good look on defense that curried in Davis’ favor.

“They were dropping back in a zone, which at the beginning of the game allowed me to shoot,” he said. “Our team worked really well…”

In other action tonight, Pleasant Home’s girls lost 53-19 to Baker.

Florala’s boys and girls didn’t favor well either, falling in both games to Laurel Hill.
