Keith Patten

Keith “Togie” Patten, 77, of Linscott Road in North Berwick, Maine, died on March 24, 2013, at his home.

Born in Bangor, Maine, on Jan. 25, 1936, he was the youngest son of Howard and Christina Patten. He was reared in Kittery and Kittery Point and attended local schools, graduating with the class of 1955 from RW Traip Academy, where he played football and basketball.

Following school he served his country in the U.S. Air Force, traveling to many duty stations throughout the world during his 22 years of service. He retired as a master sergeant from PEASE Air Force Base as his last duty station.

He would later work as a welder at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, retiring with more than 30 years of total government service.

Togie was married for many years to his loving wife, Ferrolyn (Raley) Patten, and together they made their home in North.

In his younger years he enjoyed out of doors activities, especially hunting. He looked forward to many family gatherings and spending summers with his grandchildren whom he adored. He had a special labordoodle that he enjoyed greatly.

Togie is survived by his daughters, Donna Patten Williams and her husband, Kevin, of Leland, N.C., and Kay Patten Blyth and her husband, Tom, of Suffolk, Va.; grandchildren, Samantha Allie Williams, Victoria Blyth, James Alex Williams, and TJ Blyth; and several nieces and nephews, including his niece Martha Taylor and her husband, Jimmy, who Togie was fortunate to have care for him and share wonderful visits; and life-long friends, neighbors and caregivers, Jim and Diane Strickland.

Friends may visit with his family on Thurs., March 28, from 1-3 p.m. in the JS Pelkey Funeral Home 125 Old Post Road Kittery Maine 03904, where a funeral will be celebrated at 3 p.m. with the Rev Brad Hirst officiating.

Burial will be at a later date in Andalusia. Care for the Patten family has been entrusted to the JS Pelkey Funeral Home.

 

Daisy Carol Salter

Mrs. Daisy Carol Salter, 50, of Stockbridge, Ga., formerly of Andalusia, died Sat., March 23, 2013, in Georgia after a long illness.

Funeral services will be held today, Wed., March 27, 2013, at 11a.m. from the Foreman Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in the Carolina Cemetery. The Rev. Billy Boles will officiate.

Carol was a loving wife, aunt and sister whose greatest joy was her nephews and family. She was a giving soul who bravely fought cancer for many years, but never lost her love for life and her family. She will be missed by all.

Mrs. Salter is survived by her husband, Ronnie Salter of Stockbridge; a stepdaughter, Sherrie Elmore (Jason) of Andalusia; two brothers, Mark (Stephanie) Blackwell of Columbus, Ga., and Bo (Patsy) Blackwell of Andalusia; a sister, Sandy (Tim) Smith of Alexandria, Va.; and four nephews, Kevin and Tyler Blackwell and Austin and Grayson Smith.

Pallbearers will be Mitchell Brown, Zachary Brown, Tyler Blackwell, Kevin Blackwell, Trask Blackwell and Tim Smith. Family and friends unable to attend may sign an online registry at www.foremanfunealhome.com.

 

Aubrey McGlaun

Mr. Aubrey McGlaun, 101, of Andalusia, passed away Sat., March 23, 2013, in the Andalusia Manor.

Funeral services were held Tues., March 26, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.

Survivors include his daughter, Doris Henderson; his son and daughter-in-law, Lamar and Ann McGlaun of Andalusia; his grandchildren, Becky Henderson Hobbs, Carol McGlaun Mullins, Sonia Henderson Wallace, Rhonda Henderson Mosley, and Chris Lamar McGlaun, 12 great- grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials to Southern Care Hospice.

Mrs. Anna Mozell Smith

Mrs. Anna Mozell Smith, age 95, died Fri., March 22, 2013, in a Florala nursing facility. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Mon., March 25, 2013, at Beda Baptist Church with the Rev. Glen Hutto officiating. Interment followed at Beda Cemetery with Foreman Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Smith is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Patsy Smith of Wing; one grandson, Marty Smith, also of Wing; and a number of nieces and nephews.
