Mr. And Mrs. John Bruce Smalley of Arab announce the engagement of their daughter, Allison Jean Smalley, to William Brock Bracewell, son of James and Ida Sue Cumbie and Bernie Bracewell of Andalusia.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rex Smalley of Auburn and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Stisher of Arab.

She is a graduate of Arab High School and a graduate of Auburn University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. She is playing professional basketball and working in education during the off-season.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Merle Wiggins and the late Clarence Wiggins of Opp, the late Eley Owens of Luverne and the late Mr. and Mrs. Claude Bracewell of Andalusia.

He is a graduate of Straughn High School and a graduate of Auburn University, where he earned a degree in business administration and a degree in health promotions. He is employed with Lincare Inc. in Opelika.

The wedding will be at 6 p.m., on July 6, 2013, at Arab First United Methodist Church.
