Missouri is a state filled with talent

In a funny-looking-shaped state northwest of Alabama and about 14 hours by car, lies Missouri, who has been having one heck-of-a sports year.

We here in AL tend to hang our sports successes on our college football teams, which is on surprise to some.

To start with, Missouri has currently, two well-known professional sports teams in the Kansas City Chiefs and St. Louis Cardinals, and one college football team in the Missouri Tigers doing well in their respective seasons.

Andalusia native Nico Johnson is currently on the roster with the undefeated Chiefs, who is considered the best team in the NFL right now.

The Cardinals and Boston Red Sox have been in a World Series fight to the death in providing one of the best postseason exhibitions in a while.

The Mizzou Tigers just suffered their first loss of the season last week against South Carolina in double overtime, a loss that will more than likely have implications later in the Southeastern Conference.

I say all of this to point out that Missouri is rocking it in sports right now, and I don’t see it slowing down anytime soon.

The NHL season started not too long ago, and the St. Louis Blues are 7-3 on the ice and aren’t showing any signs of melting away.

Now, I’m not afraid to say that my geological skills are top notch.

When I googled the state of Missouri, just to see where it was in the country (I know. I know.) I didn’t realize how many states it boarders.

Missouri’s got Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Iowa, Nebraska, Illinois, Kentucky and Tennessee touching its state lines.

So, you could ask yourself just this one question: How is Missouri having so much success in sports this year?

The proof is what is in between the state’s lines.
