Straughn’s boys and girls basketball teams remained in the top 10 of this week’s Class 3A Alabama Sports Writers Association poll, which was released today.

The Tigers beat Excel 52-47 on Tuesday, while the Lady Tigers won 62-22.

SHS improved to 13-4 on the season with the win in boys, and is still No. 10 in the rankings.

The girls improved to 19-1 and are still at No. 3.

Last week, Straughn defeated Southside Selma 64-50 in boys, and 59-32 in girls.

Straughn hosts Opp in area action Friday night, where the boys need to win to ensure a home berth for the area tournament.
