St. Mary’s 5K run, walk is March 1

St. Mary’s Mardi Gras 5K Run and Walk will be held Sat., March 1.

The 5K run and walk will got to support the church’s rice and beans program, which offers free rice, beans and non-perishable food items, as well as a free hot breakfast to those in need on the third Saturday of each month.

Cost is $25 for the 5K, and $10 for the fun run.

The 5K begins at 9 a.m. and the fun run starts at 10 a.m. The runs starts are St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 1307 East Three Notch St., in Andalusia. Awards will be given out and a red beans and rice lunch will be served for all participants at 11 a.m. Additional lunch tickets are available for $5.

Pre-race packet pick up is Fri., Feb. 28, from 5-6:30 p.m. Race day registration and checkin is the day of the race from 7:30 a.m. until 8:30 a.m.

Those who pre-register by Feb. 22 will be guaranteed a T-shirt.
