Rabren nabs 2nd place finish at state

Straughn’s Brooks Rabren finished tied for second place in the final round of the Class 3A boys state golf championships on Tuesday on the Senator Course of the Capitol Hill Golf Club in Prattville.

Rabren bounced back from draining a bogey on No. 4 to draining an eagle on No. 8 to get to 1-under for the tournament. He shot even par on the back nine until No. 14, where he drained a birdie on the par four hole to get to 2-under.

The junior golfer finished tied with Bayside Academy’s Jacob Dyas, both of whom carded a two-round score of 142.
