GWENDOLYN PETTY WIGGINS

Gwendolyn Petty Wiggins, 60, of Red Level, passed away unexpectedly Fri., May 16, 2014, at Andalusia Regional Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Wed., May 21, at 10 a.m. at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Michael Bush will officiate. Internment will follow in the Fairmont Baptist Church Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Tues., May 20, at Keahey Funeral Home.

Wiggins is survived by her husband, Donnie Wiggins of Red Level; son, Brent (Mandy) Wiggins of Red Level; daughter, Mylinda (Richard) Ayers of Red Level; sister, Ramona (Gary Lynn) Thompson of Pisgah; grandchildren, Gregory Ayers, Kayley Ayers, and Hollyn Wiggins; and a special nephew, Brandon (Tiffany) Thompson.

Pallbearers will be Greg Hutcheson, Edgar Lambert, Hayden Lambert, Robert Mitchell, Ronnie Edson and Ben Skipper.

 

CHRISTINA BRAZIER

Christina Brazier, 23, of Huntsville, formerly of Andalusia, passed away Mon., May 19, 2014, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Keahey Funeral Home.

 

B. LOUISE BLAIR

B. Louise Blair, 81, of Brewton, formerly of Red Level, passed away Thurs., May 15, 2014, at her residence in Brewton.

Funeral services were held Mon., May 19, at New Hope Baptist Church in Red Level. The Rev. Keith Parker  officiated.

She is survived by a son, Paul Kevin Steele Sr. of Brewton; daughters, Diane Madden of Milton and Elaine Mcglamory of Andalusia; sister, Nellie Schad of Milton; grandchildren, Kristin (Jeffery) Steele Etheridge, Kathrine (CJ) Steele Langley, PK (Erica) Steele, Kristy (Casey) Jackson, Brianna Rolin, Ashley Gibson, Russell Mcglamory, Rhonda Crawford and Dave (Julie) Crawford; and eight great-grandchildren

Blair was preceded in death by parents, Fred W. Hammac and Eula Mae Hammac; husband Eddie Blair; and brothers, Freddie Hammac and Junior Hammac.

 

LONA ELIZABETH CROOK

Lona Elizabeth Crook, 86, of Birmingham, formerly of Andalusia, passed away Sun., May 18, 2014, at UAB hospital. A memorial graveside service will be held at Thurs., May 22, at 11:30 a.m. at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with Dr. Fred Karthaus officiating. The family will meet with friends at the cemetery on Thursday.

Crook was a longtime member of the Baptist Church, wherever they lived, and was a past member of the local First Baptist Church. She loved music and was active with the choir department. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, as well as a terrific cook.

Crook is survived by her three daughters, Sylvia C. (Earl) Johnson of Andalusia, Elizabeth C. McKinnon of Birmingham and Nina C. Montone of Jacksonville Beach, Fla.; a son, David (Bonnie) Crook of Cummins, Ga; six grandchildren, Laura Johnson Crissey, Kimberly Johnson Holland, Ivy McKinnon Holmes, Ross McKinnon, Chris Montone and Reece Crook; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Fay Wray Smoak from Burnsville, N.C.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Lynch Crook; and brothers, Harold Skinner and Raymond Skinner.

The family asks that memorials be made in her honor to the Children’s Choir Program at the First Baptist Church of Andalusia, P.O. Box 788, Andalusia, AL 36420.

 

BILLY DANIEL EATON

Billy “Bill” Daniel Eaton, 77, a resident of Aurora, Colo., passed away Fri., May 9, 2014, at Andalusia Regional Hospital.

Bill was preceded in death by his loving foster parents, Mae and Mike Maddox.

He is survived by his sisters, Harriet Smith and Mikelyn Clausen; and his beloved nephews and nieces, Michael Smith, Renee “Missie” Smith, Joe Perry, Lee Perry and Jan Saunders.

Bill was born in Phenix City and moved to Andalusia in 1953 to play football at Andalusia High School. He lived with the Maddoxs until his graduation from Andalusia High School in 1957. He attended Troy University and Auburn University. Bill served in the U.S. Army, retired from the U.S. Navy, and worked for and retired from United Airlines. A memorial service for Bill will be held Sun., May 25, at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Andalusia.

 

LAVADA SEALS MITCHELL

Lavada Seals Mitchell, 93, of Luverne, passed away Sun., May 11, 2014, at a Crenshaw County Hospital .

Funeral services were held Sat., May 17, at 11 a.m. at the Keahey Funeral Home chapel. The Rev. Donnie Burns officiated. Burial followed at the Fairmount Baptist Church Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing. Special music was provided by Mrs. Carol Floyd.

Mitchell is survived by daughters, Barbara (Billie) Smith of Luverne, Marie Thomason of Andalusia, Margaret (Reuben) Burkett of Greenville and Evelyn Griggs of Red Level; sons, Harold (Mary) Mitchell of Red Level and Darrell Mitchell of Andalusia; brothers, Eddins Seals of Jasper, Lomax (Bonnie) Seals of Montgomery, A. C. Seals of Andalusia and LaVann (Frances) Seals of Mississippi; sisters, Orell Grant of Greenville and Frances (Frank) Morgan; 25 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Mitchell is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Willard Mitchell; son, David Mitchell; and daughter, Dorothy Scott.

Serving as active pallbearers were Michael Shirey, Jason Scott, Joe Armstrong, Ryan Godwin, Nathan Shirey and Donnie Wiggins.
