Expo starts today

Sporting enthusiasts in the Andalusia area rejoice. The third annual Covington Sportsmans Expo begins today and will run through Sunday with all manner of sporting equipment, activities and information on display at the Andalusia Kiwanis center.

It all begins today at 12:30 p.m. with a hunter’s education seminar prior to the official start of the expo at 3 p.m. At 3:45 p.m., the stars of the show, “Gator Country” will be on hand, complete with some of their cold-blooded friends. A second “Gator Country” presentation will also take place today at 6:45 p.m. Today’s activities also include firearm demonstrations by Taurus Holdings, Inc., Byron Ferguson from “Impossible Shots,” and much more. The expo will close its doors tonight at 9 p.m., but will reopen Saturday from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. with a full slate of sporting activities on the schedule.

Sunday’s final day for the expo will begin with a vendor church service at 8:30 a.m., before the show opens to the public at 9 a.m. Doors will close on this year’s expo at 5 p.m.

Three-day armbands are available for this year’s expo for $21; adult tickets for one day are $10; youth tickets are $8; adult tickets with a military ID are $8; and children four and under get in free.
