Bobcats look to stay focused on game

A big goal tonight for the Opp Bobcats is to finish the region undefeated as they play host to Cottage Hill for homecoming at Channell-Lee Stadium.

“That’s a big goal,” OHS head football coach Brent Hill said. “The big fight with homecoming is that you want it to go well and want them to have fun, but you also want them to stay focused.”

Cottage Hill (1-7) has senior quarterback Justin Henderson, who is also listed as a defensive back and running back.

Hill said Henderson throws the ball well.

Additionally, the Opp coach said that they don’t know what they’re going to get from the Warriors, defensively.

Offensively, Cottage Hill throws about 75 percent of the time, Hill said.

Last week, the Bobcats defeated Bayside Academy 25-14 to win the Class 3A, Region 1 championship.

Hill said practice this week has been “up beat.”

“The kids have continued to give great energy,” he said. “I want them to enjoy homecoming, but stay focused on this game.”

Kick off in Opp is at 7 p.m.
