The Florala High School Track and Field team will host the first annual  5k Florala Turkey Trot next Sat., Nov. 22, to help raise funds for new uniforms.
Registration for the event can be found at www.active.com/florala-al/. There is a $25 race fee. The first 50 registrants are guaranteed a T-shirt. Race day packets will be available to pick up from 7 a.m. – 8:45 a.m. on the day of the race. The race will start at 9 a.m. at the airplane on FL Highway 85.
The run will take place at the Alligator Trot course, which is a USATF certified course. Alligator Trot is a road course through two states on the the perimeter of Lake Jackson. There will be two water stations along the course and an official time card for accurate time recording. Fruit and water will be provided at the finish line. They will also be selling BBQ chicken plates and hamburger plates for $6.
