The under-manned Opp Bobcats fell to T.R. Miller Tigers 62-49 Monday in the final round of the Red Level Christmas tournament.

The Bobcats were playing without a few key players, but still battled hard against the Tigers. After the first period, the Tigers led 17-13. Chardian Johnson had 5 points for the Tigers. Raheem Bonam was lights out for the Bobcats with 11 points in the first period.

It remained close heading into halftime with the Tigers only up 33-29. Trae Walker kept the Tigers out front with 9 points. The Bobcats’ Reggie Thompson accounted for 5 points in the second.

Lack of depth hurt the Bobcats in the second half. The Bobcats began to wear down, and the Tigers jumped out front 50-40 heading into the final period. Bonam was top scorer in the period for the Bobcats with 4 points. Johnson paced the Tigers with 5 points.

The Bobcats didn’t give up, but the Tigers were able to run out fresh legs in the final period. The Bobcats didn’t have that luxury since they only had two players on the bench. It proved too much for the Bobcats, and the Tigers easily finished off the Bobcats 62-49. Devonte Williams went 4-for-4 from the free throw line in the final period for the Bobcats.

Walker led all scorers with 18 points, and Johnson had 16 points for the Tigers.

The Bobcats’ leading scorer was Bonam with 17 points. Thompson finished the night with 10 points.
