The T.R. Miller Tigers knocked off the Opp Bobcats B-team 34-25 Tuesday night in Opp.

 

The Bobcats opened up the game with a 7-6 lead in the first period. Lorenzo Edwards had 3 points for the Bobcats in the first period. The Bobcats pressured the Tigers’ shooters, and limited the number of open opportunities. James Jennings and Joshua Jolly each had a 3-pointer for the Tigers.

 

At the end of the first half, the Bobcats extended their lead to 15-11. E.J. Reed was the top scorer for the Bobcats in the second period, with 4 points. Jolly hit another 3-pointer that kept the Tigers close.

 

The Tigers started off the second half by applying a full-court trap that threw the Bobcats out of sync, and the Tigers took a 17-15 lead with just over two minutes remaining in the third period. Tye Lindsey tied the game up 17-17 with a layup with 45 seconds left in the period, and it was the last time the game was tied. The Tigers got a layup off a turnover to take a 19-17 lead into the final period. Michael Campbell had 6 points for the Tigers in the period.

 

The Tigers came out hot in the fourth, and scored 8 quick points to take a 27-20 lead with just over five minutes remaining in the game. Edwards and Lindsey had 3 points each for the Bobcats. Campbell had 9 points in the final period to defeat the Bobcats 34-25,

 

Edwards and Reed led the Bobcats with 7 points each.

 

The Bobcats will host the Straughn Tigers on Sat., Jan. 10th.
