Nearly a week after a Florala teen was fatally shot, Sheriff Dennis Meeks said investigators still investigating the incident, and no arrests have been made.

Eighteen-year-old Christopher Brito was shot at a residence on Country Cross Roads around 9:30 p.m., last Thursday.

On Friday, Chief Deputy David Anderson said the other person involved in the incident was Brito’s father, Christopher Francis Brito.

“We don’t really have anything else to update at the moment,” he said. “I don’t think we’ll have an outright arrest. There’s a possibility it might go to the grand jury, but I can’t say for sure right now as the investigation is still under way.”
