Straughn’s Kaitlynn Wiggins was selected to the Class 3A Alabama Sports Writers Association All-State team this year, after she helped her team finish runner-up to West Morgan at the state finals in Montgomery.

In addition to Wiggins, Straughn’s Stephanie Bracewell, Pleasant Home’s Erin Byrd, Kati Reeves and Gina Davis were selected on the honorable mention team in their respective classifications.

Wiggins finished the year with 18 wins, six losses, two saves, 29 appearances, 23 complete games and four shutouts. She also finished with a 0.67 ERA and opponents batted .127 against her.
