Tigers top Opp on Senior Night

The Straughn Tigers picked up a pair of varsity wins on Tuesday night in Straughn for Senior Night, but Opp came away with the win in B-team action.

Opp got the night started with a 47-41 victory in B-team action, but it was all Straughn from that point on.

The Straughn Lady Tigers used a strong opening period to glide past the Lady Bobcats 47-14 on Tuesday night.

Lexie Cottle picked up 6 points in the opening period for the Lady Tigers.

Alyssa Dean and Sydney Kinsaul both buried 3-pointers in the first to put the Lady Tigers on top 20-4 heading in the second period.

The Lady Tigers continued to pour it on in the second period, with 5 points from Brentley Armstrong to put Straughn up 34-10 heading into halftime.

Armstrong and Cottle each had 10 points to lead the Lady Tigers.

The Bobcats kept the score close in the first half, but the Tigers surged to the win in the second half.

At halftime, the score was tied 20-20.

Johnathan Driver led the Tigers with 13 points and Keun Samual added 11 points.

Devantae Williams finished the night with 22 points for Opp.
