Opp falls to T.R. Miller

The Opp Bobcats’ baseball team find themselves in a must win situation after falling in the final two games of their area series with the T.R. Miller Tigers Wednesday in Opp.

By winning the series, the Tigers win the area championship and Opp must now beat Hillcrest to get into the playoffs.

 

T.R. MILLER 13, 

OPP 1

In the first game, the Tigers came storming out of the gate and took a 6-0 lead in the top of the second inning.

Dillon Dee got things started with a single in the bottom of the second and Parker Bracke followed with a single to give the Bobcats some early life.

However, Tigers’ starting pitcher Jo Jo Booker struck out three of the next four batters to end the threat.

Kody Richburg singled with one-out and later came around to score on fielder’s choice off the bat of Lane Worley for the Bobcats’ only run of the game.

 

T.R. MILLER 9, 

OPP 2

T.R. Miller went on top 2-0 in the top of the first.

In the bottom of the fourth, Lane Worley led off with a triple and Alex Wise brought him around to score with a single.

Dalton Grider came around to score in the bottom of the seventh inning, but it wasn’t enough for the Bobcats to overcome the Tigers.

Worley led the way at the plate for the Bobcats going 1-for-4 with a triple and run scored.

Orlando Lacey went the final three innings on the mound and picked up six strikeouts from the Bobcats.
