Woody J. Ramsey

Mr. Woody J. Ramsey, 56, of Andalusia, passed away Sun., May 22, 2016, at his residence.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thurs., May 26, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Dennis Knowles officiating. Interment will follow in Stone Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:30 – 8 p.m. Wednesday at Foreman Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Ramsey; a son, Johnny Dubose; one daughter, Courtney Henderson, all of Andalusia; three grandchildren, Morgan Kay-cee Dubose, Jessie Ray Henderson, Jr., Gabel Dean Dubose; two brothers-in-law, Michael Dubose of Andalusia and David and Sherry Dubose of Milton, Fla., and an aunt, Tensie Butler Beam of South Carolina.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Bobbie Ramsey.

Pallbearers will be Mike Hardage, Terry Faust, Mike Bennett, Butch Rodgers, Chip Bates and Andy Adams.

Mary Syble

Inabinett Goolsby

Mary Syble Inabinett Goolsby, 86, of Rose Hill, Ala., passed away peacefully on Tues., May 24, 2016, at Mizell Memorial Hospital in Opp. A native of Covington County, Syble was born on July 26, 1929, to the late James Oliver and Emma Inabinett.

After graduating from Straughn School, Syble worked for Lykes Pasco in Dade City, Fla., for 26 years, first in the personnel office and later as an executive assistant, before returning to Alabama. She later worked as a courier for Rosch/Lab Corp for 10 years until her retirement. Syble was an active servant in her church and enjoyed volunteering at the Christian Service Center and sewing in her spare time.

Mrs. Goolsby is survived by her daughter, Julia Goolsby Holmes (Raymond); granddaughter, Amy Holmes Johnson (Christopher); grandson, Benjamin Blocker (Jenna); and three great-grandsons. Other relatives left to cherish her memory include her sisters-in-law, Mildred Inabinett and Opal Sasser (Clyde); brother-in-law, Johnie Goolsby (Glenda); and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Earnest Riley Goolsby, Jr.; daughter, Diana Goolsby Blocker; grandson, Jason Blocker; and brother, James Tunney Inabinett.

Graveside services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thurs., May 26, 2016, in Peaceful Acres Memorial Gardens. Greg Cotter will be officiating with Wyatt Funeral Home directing.

 

Patricia McCurley Curry

Mrs. Patricia McCurley Curry, 70, of Andalusia, passed away Mon., May 23, 2016, in the Andalusia Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thurs., May 26, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Glenn Vaughn officiating. Interment will follow in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Foreman Funeral Home

She is survived by her husband, Robert Curry; a daughter, Pamela Curry Smith; grandchildren, Clayton Adam Sawyer and Kayla Renae Smith, all of Andalusia; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Carolyn McCurley of Opp, Paul and Shirley McCurley of Spotsylvania, Va.; a sister and brother-in-law, Faye and Jim Paul Smithart of Pepperell, Mass; sister-in-law, Diann McCurley of Opp.

She is preceded in death by her son, Robert “Bob” Curry; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Richard and Becky McCurley and James McCurley; and her parents, Russie Lee and Mozelle McCurley.

Gladys H. Hart

Gladys Hart (July 1, 1922 – May 20, 2016) died in Northport, Ala. She was 93.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Dale South of Northport; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Jean Scott, Andalusia; for grandchildren, Scott South, Northport, Jeremy Scott of Opp, Garrick Scott of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., and Olivia Jarrell of Quitman, Ga.; nieces Margaret Foley and Kathryn Sharpe of Andalusia; nephew, Larry Walker of Andalusia; a special granddaughter-in-law, Becki South of Northport; 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Gypsy Canine Rescue, 12310 Falcon Crest Circle, Northport, AL 35475.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date for the family.
