Dorothy Huckabaa Florer

Mrs. Dorothy Huckabaa Florer, 54, of Andalusia, passed away Tues., May 24, 2016, at her residence.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Fri., May 27, at Carolina Baptist Church with Brother Durwood Cleland officiating. Interment will follow in the Huckabaa Family Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:30 – 8 p.m. Thursday at Foreman Funeral Home and at the church 30 minutes prior to services.

She is survived by her husband, Donald Lloyd Florer; her children, Joshua Garrett, Samantha (Chad) Long of Andalusia, Stephanie Amos, Sabrina Munsen, and Daniel Florer of Zephyr Hills, Fla.; 10 grandchildren, Wednesday Florer, Devin McAdams, Bethany Amos, Becca Amos, Chad Long II, Tyler Amos, Justin Amos, Tabitha Long, Jack Amos, and Allen Garrett; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Jack McGowin and Linda and Kenny Hendrix of Andalusia; a brother and sister-in-law, Henry C. and Linda Huckabaa, Jr.; and six nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry Huckabaa, Sr. and Johnnie Mae Spears; and her parents-in-law, Morris E. and Evelyn Florer.

Pallbearers will be Allen Garrett, Chad Long, Chad Long II, Donnie Earl Huckabaa, J. D. Huckabaa, Eric Eckenrod, Clayton Hendrix, Devin McAdams.

Carol Edward Nall

Carol Edward Nall, 81, of Alco Drive, Brewton, passed away on Wed., May 11, 2016, at his home surrounded by family.

0526 Carol Nall Obituary photoFuneral services were held Sat., May 14, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Brewton First Baptist Church with the Rev. John Finklea officiating. Interment followed at Green Acres Memorial Park with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.

He was born in Covington County to Mr. and Mrs. Lee Nall on August 3, 1934, but had made Brewton his home for more than 50 years. He graduated from Straughn High School in 1953 before serving in the U.S. Navy for four years. He married his high school sweetheart, Winnie Baisden, on Dec. 17, 1955. He worked for Container Corp. of America for 34 years. He enjoyed spending time with family, fishing and gardening. Most importantly, his faith in Jesus Christ led him to constantly love, serve, and pray for others.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Winnie Baisden Nall; two daughters, Cindy Speir of Opelika and Kay (David) Cooper of Brewton; son, Keith (Christy) Nall of Auburn; sister, Judy Beasley of Parachute, CO; six grandchildren, Josh (Sara) Cooper, Will Speir, Leigh (Patrick) Reeves, Trent Nall, Grant Nall, and Cassidy Nall; three great-grandchildren, Sydney Cooper, Cain Cooper, and Edward Reeves IV.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Lee and Robbie Earle Nall; five brothers, Dalton Nall, Donald Nall, Billy Earl Nall, Reginald Nall, and Erwin Nall.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to honor his request by asking that donations be made to the Alabama Children’s Home in his memory.

 

Gladys H. Hart

Gladys Hart (July 1, 1922 – May 20, 2016) died in Northport, Ala. She was 93.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Dale South of Northport; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Jean Scott, Andalusia; for grandchildren, Scott South, Northport, Jeremy Scott of Opp, Garrick Scott of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., and Olivia Jarrell of Quitman, Ga.; nieces Margaret Foley and Kathryn Sharpe of Andalusia; nephew, Larry Walker of Andalusia; a special granddaughter-in-law, Becki South of Northport; 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Gypsy Canine Rescue, 12310 Falcon Crest Circle, Northport, AL 35475.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date for the family.
