Dayton chosen to represent AHS at Alabama Girls State

Rachel Dayton represented Andalusia High School at the 2016 session of American Legion Auxiliary Alabama Girls State, held on the campus of the University of Alabama. Sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary, Alabama Girls State is a laboratory of practical government, and a personal application of the duties, responsibilities and privileges of being and American.

Dayton is president of Peer Helpers; a member of the City of Andalusia Youth Ambassadors; Sub Deb; AHS varsity volleyball and tennis teams; AHS Colorguard; and National Honor Society. She was the Alabama Rural Electric Youth Tour winner.

She is the daughter of Mark and Lynne Dayton, and the granddaughter of Becky and Jim Dayton and Sara Ham and the late O’Neal Ham.
