Bulldog soccer starts season strong

The Andalusia High School soccer team has started the season strong under tutelage of first-year head coach Jarrett Williamson.

In the first game of the season, the Bulldogs rallied in the final minutes to knock off Houston Academy 3-2.

The Bulldogs picked up their second win of season a few days later when the traveled to Enterprise and topped the Class 7A Wildcats 4-3.

Andalusia went to 3-0 after taking down Hillcrest-Evergreen 12-0.

Enterprise and Andalusia were scheduled to play on Monday night, but the game was cancelled due to the weather.

Andalusia has two games remaining before entering area competition.

The Bulldogs will be back in action on Thursday when they host Providence Christian for one varsity game beginning at 6 p.m.

On March 7, the Bulldogs will travel to Houston Academy before entering area play.

Andalusia’s area includes Satsuma, Citronelle and Thomasville.

The Bulldogs will begin area play on March 13 when they travel to Satsuma to take on the Gators.

The first home-area game for the Bulldogs will be March 23 against Citronelle.

The Bulldogs will be back in action Thursday at home against Providence Christian.
