Lady Bulldogs have strong showing in tourney

The Andalusia Lady Bulldogs put up strong battles on Saturday, but fell in 2-of-3 three games at the Ariton Purplecat softball tournament in Ariton.

LAMP 2,

ANDALUSIA 1

In the opening game of the tournament, the Lady Bulldogs fell 2-1 to LAMP.

The Lady Bulldogs took an early lead with an RBI from Zaria Jones, but LAMP added a pair of runs in the top of the fifth to pick up a 2-1 victory.

ANDALUSIA 4,

HIGHLAND HOME 3

The Lady Bulldogs fought back in the second game for a 4-3 victory over Highland Home.

Millie Manring led the way for the Lady Bulldogs going 2-for-3 with one RBI and two runs scored.

Chloe Mikel and Alana Nettles each drove in one run in the Lady Bulldog victory.

Mary Salter picked up the win on the mound for the Lady Bulldogs giving up just two earned runs in the six innings of work.

DALE COUNTY 4,

ANDALUSIA 0

The Lady Bulldogs were eliminated from the double-game elimination after falling to Dale County 4-0.
