Andalusia High School rising junior Reese Burkhardt made National Kicking Rankings camp history with an impressive showing at camp last week.

The junior kicker became the first person in camp history to go perfect in the camp’s charting phase.

Burkhardt went 8-for-8 and accumulated all 16 points possible in the charting phase.

In a span of eight months, over 130 kickers have come through the camp, but before Burkhardt, no one had gone perfect in the charting phase of the camp.

Burkhardt was huge for the Bulldogs in 2017 and played a pivotal role for a team that made it to the semifinals of the Class 4A state playoffs.

During the year, Burkhardt was 61-for-65 on extra point attempts and was 7-for-9 on field goal attempts with a long of 39 yards.

Burkhardt was the second leading scorer for the Bulldogs with 82 points.

He only trailed B.J. Anderson in points in the 2017.

Anderson, now playing for the Vanderbilt Commodores, scored 90 points for the Bulldogs in 2017.

Nationalkickingrankings.com has Burkhardt listed as the No. 8 kicking prospect for the 2020 recruiting class.

Burkhardt and the Bulldogs open up the season on Aug. 24 will a road trip to Saraland.

Andalusia’s first home game will be Aug. 31 against Trinity.
