9 charged in 3 murders, 1 remains unsolved

A total of nine people have now been charged with murder this summer in three separate murders that occurred within 42 days in Covington County this summer, and no one has been arrested in a fourth murder.

–Tammy A. Bush, , 55, charged with murder and released on a $500,000 bond.

–Jonathon A. Bush, 29, charged with murder and released on a $500,000 bond.

–Joseph Vernon Armstrong, 72, charged with murder and released on a $500,000 bond.

–Christopher Bradley Bush, 43, charged with murder and released on a $500,000 bond.

  • Four were charged with murder in the July death of an Elba man, Louis Swinger, who had been missing for a week. Investigators believe he was shot and killed in an apartment on Hardage Circle, and his body was later hidden in the woods. Arrested were:

–Bomaro V. Head, charged with murder and held on a $500,000 bond.

— Dayshawn D. Siler, charged with murder and held on a $500,000 bond.

–Kali Jamar Siler, charged with murder and held on a $500,000 bond.

–Kenyatta Carstarphen, charged with murder and held on a $500,000 bond.

No one has been charged in the June 2 death of Zadarios Arlyic McCaskill, 22, inside Soggy Bottom Tavern.

Similarly, there have been no arrestes in the murders of two men whose bodies were found on the Butler County side of the Covington/Butler line, also on June 2. The bodies for Cortez Dees and Luman Williams, both of Evergreen were found in Garland on Dilly Hill Road.
