PLAYING WITH THEIR HEARTS: Andy has strong performance at Straughn tourney

The Andalusia Lady Bulldogs went 2-2 on Saturday before falling in the semifinals in Straughn’s volleyball tournament at Straughn High School.

STRAUGHN 2,

ANDALUSIA 1

In the first game of the day, the Lady Bulldogs fell to Straughn 2-1.

Andalusia took the first game of the series with a 25-20 victory.

The Lady Tigers battled back and came away with a 25-12 victory in game two.

Straughn finished off the match with 15-12 win in game three.

ANDALUSIA 2,

LAUREL HILL 0

The Lady Bulldogs got back on track in the second game of the series with a 2-0 sweep over the Laurel Hill Lady Hobos.

Both teams came out strong and it was Andalusia who came away with a 25-18 victory.

The Lady Bulldogs and Lady Hobos had another close match in the second game, but Andalusia was once again able to come away with the win.

Andalusia completed the sweep with a 25-19 victory.

ANDALUSIA 2,

W.S. NEAL 0

Andalusia capped off pool play with a 2-0 sweep over W.S. Neal.

In the first game of the match, Andalusia took control early and cruised to a 25-11 victory.

The Lady Bulldogs held nothing back in the second game as they finished off the set with a 25-12 victory. The win over W.S. Neal put Andalusia, Laurel Hill and Straughn in a three-way tie for the top spot in the pool.

Andalusia won the tiebreaker for the top spot in pool one. Laurel Hill was the runner up and Straughn’s day came to an end.

GENEVA 2,

ANDALUSIA 0

In the opening round of the single-elimination tournament, the Geneva Lady Panthers swept Andalusia 2-0 to advance to the championship game.

Geneva stormed out front 9-0 in the first set and held off Andalusia for a 25-14 win.

In game two, the Lady Panthers picked up a 25-19 win.
