Caps 2-month investigation, clean up of Easy Street

On Monday, November 5, 2018, agents with the 22nd Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force, the Lockhart Police Department, Florala Police Department, Covington County Incident Response Team and Alabama Law Enforcement Agency agents ended a two-month investigation into the trafficking of methamphetamine on Easy Street in Florala with the arrest of six people.

Agents were able to execute a search warrant at the home of Paul Ashley Cook and located more than 100 grams of methamphetamine and marijuana. Agents took Cook into custody and charged him with drug trafficking and possession of marijuana first and possession of drug paraphernalia.

This is the second time in the last few months that Cook has been arrested for trafficking methamphetamine. The previous time, he was arrested in Florala and had 10 ounces of methamphetamine in his possession at the time of the arrest.

Also arrested at his residence was Jason Miles of Crestview, Florida. Miles was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana second, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Chris Pelham of the Florala area was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Agents were also able to take six more ounces of methamphetamine of the street when they came into contact with James Stackhouse, D’Shauna Longmire, and Sabrina Ward from the Opp area and found them to be in possession of methamphetamine. Agents made contact will all three on Easy Street. They were arrested and charged with drug trafficking and possession of drug paraphernalia. All remain in the Covington County jail.
